Here is a close up of the cherry blossoms I made and a tutorial is below.
Above is a close up of my dusty attic butterfly. I first painted it with Distress crackle paint in antique linen. It is a yellowy cream and while it was still wet I poured some glitter over the wings. after it was totally dry I removed the excess glitter and ink the edges with chestnut and some cinnamon colored Stickles around the edges and down the center. Lastly, I covered the entire butterfly with glossy accents, that way I don't have to worry about the glitter going everywhere.
I just love cherry blossoms. I live in Japan and to me, they are the epitome of this beautiful country. These are the prettiest cherry blossoms I have seen! I would love to know how you made them. When you post the tutorial, can you please email me so I won't miss it? okispice@hotmail.com
ReplyDeletethanks so much - your art is gorgeous!
Thank you so much for the tut on the DA butterfly - it's GORGEOUS!! As soon as I discovered DA, I ordered all kinds, but then wasn't sure how to show it off!! Your technique is sooo beautiful & I can't wait to try it :) I also love the way you layered it over that pretty paper, which really helps it stand out! I soooo agree with you about how much you can learn when you really study the details & you always hit the mark - thanks again Lisa :)
