Last month I participated in the "Once upon a Sketch" challenge and I loved it! I normally do so many layout for my classes at the LSS where I teach that I don't always have time for my own pages. But the sketches are beautiful and inspiring, plus you need to include journaling of some type every time (I always forget how important that is). The design team is an international assortment of some of the most talented scrappers out there, I really don't know what the heck took me so long! Here is my entry for the current challenge. The perfume bottle in the lower right hand corner is from trio of chipboard perfume bottles made for me by Dusty Attic. I am so excited to have them and I decided to have a small amount of extras made to share in case other people loved perfume bottles as much as I do. I designed them so all 3 can work together in a layout or separately as shown. If you liked the perfume bottle chippie on this page you can sign up for my Dusty Attic Giveaway here!
Tutorial for the perfume bottle. Step 1. Coat the stopper shape (at the top) with embossing ink, I taped off the area so it wouldn't get over the lower portion of the chippie next I use a silver metallic embossing enamel from Bing and melt the enamel, if there are any areas that are uncoated you can add more. 2. Coat the rest of the chipboard with gesso or white paint and let dry (it only takes about 10 minutes to dry). 3. Coat the chippie with Mod Podge or matte medium and while it's wet crumple up some white tissue paper and then spread it out, leaving some wrinkles in the tissue paper and coat over the top with the Mod Podge or matte medium, set aside and a allow time to dry. 4. Spray with glimmer mist (I used Patina) and dry carefully with heat gun. Be careful to keep the heat moving around so you don't burn it. If you want it a bit darker repeat this last step. 5. Make a label for your bottle this can be done with a photo, chip art or a sticker and glue it to your chippie. Next I surrounded the label with tiny silver stick on pearls from my LSS. 6. Add a cut out piece of lace around the collar area of the bottle and allow a bit of space for the bow as well. (I designed it so I would have room for all the yummy details) Next, I finished it off with a bow and a jewel. 7. to seal everything I coated the misted area with chandelier glimmer glam. That's it your done!
